"Distraction would help now to remove my thoughts from the struggle that seemed to be invading every corner of my mind."

Zombie Night2 ~ Synopsis ~ Compliments of Stan Hart
"Hey, you wanna be a Zombie?"
That is where it all started. Being the kind of people that we are the answer was an emphatic "Hell Yes!" Dave Francis - writer/director of Zombie Night was planning to shoot the sequel in our area in June of 2005. After e-mails back and forth, a group of us went out to meet him. That started the ball rolling. Most of our group (including the kids) ended up being not only Zombies, but helping out with production, props, make-up, construction, and just about anything else you can imagine.
Who would've thought that two weeks of sweltering heat, and an unbelievable number of mosquitos would be so much fun!?!
Of course - as is the natural progression
- Bar Seven Productions came into being.
(An easy way of not having to list our names again and again in the credits)

Karen and Donna to participate in
an Anthology!
The concept is based on an idea by James Duncan (author of the Book of Revelations trilogy). Six authors were asked to come up with a basic character outline. Each will write a short story that will revolve around the idea of "Armageddon" and "Purgatory" based on the characters provided.
After receiving the complete character outlines both Donna and I decided on the "Fantasy/Horror" genre. This, of course, is the genre that we both know best and seemed to mesh nicely with the vision that we both had in mind.
The bard once asked: What is in
a name?
After a considerable amount of thought and deliberation we have named our
stories. After finishing our first drafts Donna has decided on: "The
Sum of a Life" while mine is titled: "In the Absence of Light".

What If … ?
Saturday night - The one night of the week when we, the Bar Seven, as a
group traditionally get together. This past week was no different, at the
beginning. The game of choice for the evening was D&D. One member, who
shall remain nameless, brought samples of his home-made wine, and together
with a few beers fell further and further into drunkenness until we made
a group decision to “call it” early.
That however was the beginning of a really interesting conversation. This
same individual, who, for the purpose of this piece we will call “Stan”
brought up a rather appealing idea.
“I want to make a movie,” he slurred. “I have three weeks
off work this summer…”
Now, of course, our next questions regarded budget, sets and story, at which
time he looked around and smiled.
At this point another of our group decided to play devil’s advocate.
After working on Zombie Night 2 we had a fairly good idea of what we were
getting ourselves into. There were some points that he wanted to ‘put
out there’ for consideration. And so the conversation deepened.
An hour later we began to see the ‘vision’. A very low- (by
low I mean zero) budget ‘horror’ movie. With the fragments of
idea that he gave, as well as the input from the rest of the crew we had
some idea of what he was looking to do.
Now, we as a group, and ‘Stan’ in particular have seen an untold
number of zero-budget movies. My personal take? I love low budget movies
as long as the story, and the dialogue between the characters is good. There
is nothing worse in my opinion than watching a “B” grade movie
and thinking – This is so cheesy! There is no way that he or she would
say that!
Voila! A new project is born!
The next step? Another brainstorming session regarding the storyline (one
where we are all coherent). Once we have the basic idea and the characters
mapped out myself and Donna will get together and write a short story based
on the idea. From there any changes can be made, and we (again myself and
Donna) will rework the story into a script.
At the moment both Donna and I are currently working on short stories for
the “Amazon Shorts” program. Both of our stories will be offshoots
from our book “Eternally Yours”, also available from Amazon.
On top of that I am currently hip-deep in research for my third novel (a
work which will go further into the Fantasy genre that I love so much!)
and Donna is beginning work on her next novel (a sequel to Eternally Yours).
No matter how busy we are though, the possibility of us all working together
on another project was simply too irresistible to pass up. It brings to
mind the Gaelic motto of the 15th Battalion /48th Highlanders from WWI (The
Battalion that my husband’s grandfather was a member of)

Donna has alsodecided to put together a line of Bar 7 items which will be for purchase through cafepress.com, again check back for updates.
